I like the X series because, MEGAMAN X2 was the first megaman game I ever Played, nd I fell in love with the series ever since...

Megaman X series all the way, it paved the way for the Zero series and later the ZX series, it introduced armor upgrades, a darker story, and even crossed the gap to become an rpg (if only they'd make another and fix all the problems of the first one...)

I personally find it hard as hell to choose. X is classic, classic began it all, it's too early to call ZX a series yet, MMBN is good but juvenile at times, MMSF I haven't played, and Zero was really good as well.
It's hard to choose one, although I'd imagine ZX will be my favorite once they have two or three games under the series' belt.
